Nanocatalytic Efficacy of Silver Nanoparticles Fabricated using <i>Chaetomorpha antennina</i> Algal Extract, Their Characterization, and Its Applications

Silver nanoparticles (SNPs) were synthesized by using an aqueous extract of the green seaweed Chaetomorpha antennina. Synthesized SNPs characterized UV-Visible spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, FESEM, EDAX, and DLS with Zeta potential techniques. The formation is confirmed appearance signatory brown color solution a characteristic peak at 452 nm in UV-Vis spectrum. FTIR spectrum indicated 11 intense peaks different functional groups capping nanoparticles. SNP lattice unaffected other molecules algal extract, as revealed XRD pattern, average size was 21 according to full width half minimum. FESEM images that are spherical morphology, sizes ranging from 69.99 99.19 nm. EDX result indicates Ag-NPs display absorption 3 keV shows presence silver element. obtained zeta value through method –27.4 mV. seedling growth positively affected specific concentration SNPs. In antioxidant activity, IC50 384.13 μg/mL. react earthworm Lampito mauritii mortality rate 25% 100% for min.
